This family run business is rapidly expanding and thriving with the help of Cloudbeds.
Hospitality runs through the Garry’s blood. The family started a B&B 15 years ago in Birr County, Ireland. And as Eoin Garry tells it, he grew up with a flair for hospitality. His living room doubled as the Bed and Breakfasts’ common area and welcoming guests became second nature.
Before 2011, hospitality and guests weren’t the family’s only focus. The Garry family has also run a successful construction company. The family ran a successful construction company, but when the recession hit, they found opportunity in purchasing properties. They purchased properties with the intent of renovating them and creating unique, authentic properties. Today the family runs a portfolio of properties including a B&B, hostel and short stay holiday apartments.
Their growth is set to continue with plans to open four more properties over the next year.
Before Cloudbeds, Canbe Hospitality was using an outdated property management solution to run their B&B. It was clunky and complicated. What’s worse, they were required to download the software and it wasn’t accessible online.
With their growth rate, Canbe knew they needed a modern system and new streamlined processes. Eoin estimates that Cloudbeds cut his staff’s time in half with an intuitive, all-in-one dashboard and system.
Today, all 33 of their employees are on the same page no matter where they are working.
Canbe Hospitality uses Cloudbeds group booking engine, which enables them to process bookings for all six properties from one dashboard. Their staff can see both detailed analytics for an individual property and how the group performs as a whole.
Since Canbe Hospitality has reservation staff at multiple locations, it was imperative that their system was cloud-based. Everyone uses the same system and is trained. All properties operate the same and access is seamless. With Cloudbeds’ various permission settings, Eoin is able to control who has access to guest details, check-ins, checkouts, online bookings, rates, reports, and more.
Eoin notes that ease of use in setting up new channels through the Cloudbeds channel manager. While they still get the majority of business from Booking.com, they now list on an 8 additional channels, opening up an entirely new travel market. With new channels they’re able to test new strategies. For example, in the offseason when there are fewer tourists, they’ve decided to focus on attracting more business travelers.
