Introducing Eskorial — Cloudbeds’ October update for myfrontdesk and mybookings. Our team works hard around the clock to constantly improve our software. Here is what we’ve accomplished this month:

Myfrontdesk

Restrictions to add intervals as Closed to Arrival (CTA) and Closed to Departure (CTD) are now available to both BAR rates, as well as rate plans.

By popular demand, we have moved the configuration / definition of the quantity of rooms of each type (previously under Inventory) to under the Room Type page. Other improvements were also made to this page.

Mybookings’ availability matrix now operates like myallocators’. Users are able to override a rate, or any of the restrictions for a single day or for an interval.

All the restrictions have been added as filters to select from. The property can choose which options to show and which to hide.

An option to email an invoice along with printing the pdf version has been added. The invoice is included as a pdf attachment. The email template is customizable from within the Customize Email Templates page.

The reservation’s balance due was added to the details box on the calendar.

Previously, when creating a room type, the option to select whether it is a private room or a public room was only available if the property type was set to ‘Hostel’. For more flexibility, we added this selection for all property types, with ‘Private Room’ set as default.

The two-step process to create general room amenities under property settings, and then select the ones that apply to each room was consolidated into one. We moved t

he room amenities directly to the Room Types page. Instead of selecting from a previously selected list of amenities, users now see the full room amenity list to select from for each room type.

On the room allocations page, we already had the option to select the maximum number of rooms to show at one time when creating a reservation via the booking engine. We now added the selection for how many rooms to sell via the booking engine.
For example, if a property has 100 deluxe queen rooms available, and they choose to show only 5 to website visitors when creating the reservation via the booking engine, the dropdown will show values of up to 5 to select from. If the reservation is made for 5 and now we have 95 rooms, the next guest that comes will still be able to select up to 5. The number should never exceed availability however. If only 3 deluxe queen rooms are available, we will show 3 on this list.

Mybookings

In order to increase conversions through mybookings, we have hidden the field for promotional codes, replacing it with a link. Clicking the link expands the section to show the box to enter the promo code.

When setting up hotel policies (Settings > Policies), a 4th deposit option called “Do not collect deposit” has been added. The purpose of this is to be able to set the deposit amount to 0.

If this option is selected, another question will appear below asking whether the property still wants to capture credit card details for that reservation. Selecting no will hide the entire payments section.

On page Booking Engine > Customize mybookings, a question has been added asking the property whether they want to allow reservations for the same day.
