Indiana Beach is an amusement park and resort located on Lake Shafer in Monticello, Indiana. The resort was developed by the Spackman family who owned it from 1926-2008. Originally named Ideal Beach, the amusement park began as a small lakeside beach with a refreshment stand. In 1927, the first thrill attraction opened, and from that point, it began to expand. On September 1, 2015, the park was sold to Apex Parks Group.
At IB Crow and Indiana Beach Campgrounds, guests choose from over 1,100 RV camping sites, cabins and tent sites. During the summer season, Indiana Beach employs more than 500 full & part time employees including 10 reservation specialists. On opening weekend alone, more than 14,000 guests check in at Indiana Beach’s campgrounds and more than 1,700 guests check in at the cabins.
Since switching to Cloudbeds, Indiana Beach has increased their revenue by 32% and occupancy has improved by 22% year-over-year. The lift in occupancy has resulted in more than $400,000 in additional revenue for their campgrounds and cabins. They credit Cloudbeds’ ease-of-use as a driving factor. Jeff Santoni, Asset & Project Management Director, says Indiana Beach required maximum flexibility across different types of inventories. Plus, it was essential that their new system be cloud-based so their entire team could access reservations, calendars, and reports.
Indiana Beach was on a tight, aggressive implementation schedule. They needed to import thousands of reservations and train dozens of employees before the new season began. “With any technology transition, there are bound to be speed bumps. Indiana Beach is now able to feature add-ons that are itemized for their reporting. They can upsell tickets to the amusement park and enable a seamless checkout process for guests looking to enjoy everything their resort offers. Indiana Beach’s marketing department is able to easily create promo codes to advertise customizable promotions throughout the year. When guests go to enter the promo codes, everything is applied automatically and recorded within the system’s backend.
