MATICES HOTEL DE BARRICAS

Matices Hotel de Barricas is one of the most unique hotels in the world. Guests stay in barrel-shaped tequila rooms surrounded by an agave field right outside Tequila, Mexico. The hotel was built on the same site as a tequila factory, and its mission is for guests to have new experiences related to Mexico’s national drink – tequila.

Before working with Cloudbeds, Matices Hotel de Barricas found it very difficult to manage their business. The staff had to manually update availability and rates on individual OTAs. It was a very time-consuming process, and the staff had to be on their computers 24/7 to update reservations rather than spending time with the guests.

The magical moment for a guest is seeing the barrels from afar since they appear to be small, and as they get closer to the hotel, guests start seeing the true dimensions of a barrel. The moment you discover that not only tequila can rest inside a barrel, but also a human being, it’s truly magical.
